Uploading images and income

Tricia de Courcy Ling

Question

Hello everyone

I know it's hard to get a regular income from a photo library but wanted to ask if it makes a difference uploading images daily rather than weekly? Even if it's just 4/5 images?

Does the constant drip move the contributor up to any kind of better level for viewing? Or does it just depend on the image quality and needs? Thanks

A couple of years ago I used to submit live news image to alamy several times a week. Now I only upload once or twice a week at most,  and have not seen a decline in my sales.  I would have to say it seems to depend more on the images and keywords.

I'm of the opinion that it doesn't matter.

My best year of sales was a year that I did not upload one photograph the entire year.

My advice is upload as you shoot, work on your keywords and captions when you have time, and don't push yourself into guilt if you are feeling unmotivated. It happens.
