Sales dried up in America

Recommended Posts

Sales ebb and flow. I find that having no expectations is best - then when I do make a sale it's a wonderful surprise. I also don't have a huge portfolio uploaded yet, so that makes a big difference I think, My goal this year is to vastly increase my numbers all the way around.

Location doesn't matter. I'm on the west coast as well, but almost all of my sales have been to foreign (to me) publications.

Is this typical for anyone in the States? Anyone having good success this year? What kind of content has been doing well for you?

I guess I don't attend rallies or catch social issues in time to provide those kinds of photographs.

Thanks, and good luck to all, stay healthy and happy.

Alex

That's wonderful for both of you for the sales.

Now with the new contract out, I am sure to be stuck in the Silver tier. Crawling out of it with a handful of sales per year at 20% earnings would be an impossible climb.

Sigh..

642 images is not a lot of images. I have almost 2000 and that is not a lot. The bigger your library here, the more opportunity you'll have to make sales. I have made a huge goal for myself for this year. Maybe I will see you on the road in Northern California this summer.

The sales quota is based on gross sales, not your personal cut of the sales.  You need $250 gross to stay in Gold.

I do mostly politics and public events. COVID has taken away most of my business for the past year. Birds and flowers do not pay the bills.

I'm not so sure. More than 90% of my sales are still lifes shot under studio lighting. It's all about what you know and how well you do your metadata.
