Photographers trying to keep working during the pandemic

Recommended Posts

A good piece in the New York Times today about photographers struggling to work during this pandemic.  If I were much younger, I might see myself out there trying to capture something meaningful.  Instead, I am just doing a few table top photos at home...too much of a risk for me at this point.  I hope there isn't a paywall to view the article.

"To scrounge up money, his attorney has been scouring the web for illegal use of his images."

i wonder if he/she reduced the fees.  problem is that the illegal users might not be solvent in the end.

most revealing part

"“Sometimes all this feels crazy, like I’m turning into a hypochondriac,” Ms. Ochs said in an email. “But I’m trying to work from the side of being overly cautious.”"

reminds me of one of the best line to me of Stephen Colbert relating to the pandemic referring to what before would have been deemed as OCD now being "Obsessive Compulsive Order"...(i have started referring to OCO with my sister who has a bit of it, and teaching me on how to deal with this new order)
