Ed Rooney
I would call those Fat Pigs. More seriously, they look like fat Piétrain pigs.

Janet
Googled the piggy's and they look like Mangalitsa pigs to me but I'm no expert but maybe worth a look. Janet
Ed Rooney
I saw lots of potbellied pigs in Vietnam, Niels, but almost all were black or dark tan and did not have that shortened face. Edo
Bryan
Thanks for all the help folks, gratefully received. It appears that these Vietnamese pigs come in various shapes and sizes, and, from what I can see, they look to be the closest match. Further, there is reference to cross breeding wild boar with them, so that might be a further clue to their use in a medieval setting. However, if anyone knows better, please let me know!
