  1. just about spring-like enough to start drying outside again and the days are long enough for most things. We had some American cousins visiting who looked very puzzled as we hung the wash out on the line rather than bundling everything into the dryer which was standing right there not being used. I guess we use it a couple of times a year
  2. You might feel good for a bit if you let rip like that. Probably wouldn't change many minds though
  3. That no pay, pat on the back with credit is just an insult. Good on you for being polite and professional.
  4. I've still got a few Canon F1s with FD lenses tucked away. Much older! they all still work, never put a foot wrong any of them. One power winder packed up, that's all. Wonderful workhorse cameras
  5. I agree it is worth trying to keep away from the silly pricing markets, but there is still no certainty that some next-to-nothing sales will not happen. I can't see how any of these ultra low prices can be worth it for anyone. And I can't embrace the "something is better than nothing" attitude.
  6. everything on that plate looks delicious. I congratulate you on your restraint on price commenting
  7. cookies. horrible horrible horrible I don't trust any of what they proport. Too much danger lurking there!
  8. There are a couple of wars raging, a lot of people are dying and the UK media are fussing about a few tweaked sleeves on a Royal family snap? Let's try to get a grip!
  9. I see stuff posted on my facebook feed which is obviously AI generated (the skin tones are too perfect is one clue). Videos are easier to spot but as the bloke is saying, they will get even better. Voice fakes are perhaps more concerning and too many people are willing to believe
  10. to be honest, if anyone spots me as a professional photographer, I think I have failed. The idea of identifying myself with anything like an alamy tee-shirt is a non starter for me. I keep my kit to a minimum and just about never use a tripod. In the days when I hauled a Pentax67 around, I had too many problems.
  11. 5 for $195 so $39 per sale. The sad thing is, those would be considered pretty OK figures by to-day's standards. depressing a bit, but at least not a raft of dollar sales.
  12. If you believe what you might still find in an old film (probably B&W, but talking) If you were a photographer (before "tog") you wore a fedora with a ticket "Press" jauntily shoved into the ribbon. No need for an actual press card or naff t shirt with some logo . The prat from the security partoll would have no idea what Alamy might be about.
  13. as you have not identified the image, it's hard to figure what this might be about. For sure Alamy are not in the business of actually selling copyrights, only licences. The terms and duration and media are getting more diverse every day. I don't see how Moseley Road can possibly be the copyright holder. The nearest I ever got to a copyright sale was an exclusive use for an industry sector for 3 years and that sure as hell wasn't in the $15 region.
  14. unfortunately there are large chunks of this world where copyright is frequently ignored and where debt collection is problematic.
