Stargazing

Any experienced photographer in stargazing here who kindly may let me know if there need of a specific torchlight? It would be my first time and in the desert.

Any standard torch will do provided the glass/plastic front can be covered with red safety film, cut a disc and insert it inside the existing glass front if possible. Also best to cover the front of a laptop with red film, otherwise night vision is ruined.

NO, it doesn't matter what type of torch.

 

But it should be red coloured light.

Easier if you look for an LED torch that includes a red light. I bought one recently, two buttons, one gives white light, the other red. Perfect!

This is a fantastic solution! So, while I am waiting for a long night exposure I can eat a few Babybel :-)

I presume I should make a collage of a few red cellophane not including the Babybel brand unless I wish some advertising? :-)

 

 

 

Whatever piece of red colored cellophane will do. No big deal. Just a matter of keeping your pupils wide open.
