Allan Bell
I have been investigating the Sony RX10 and while on their website I noticed that there is a new software download. So for those who are using the RX10 here is the link. http://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/cyber-shot-compact-cameras/dsc-rx10 Sorry you will have to copy/paste. Peter Jordan
Allan, Thanks for the info. This is said to be firmware version 2.0 My RX10 has version 1. What I do not understand is that the upgrade software seems to be Mac compatible but not Windows. I only have Windows so I can't (won't) play with it. Upgrade is of little interest to me as it seems to make the already good video function even more versatile or maybe complex.

Have not looked into this in detail but perhaps the new software is adding Mac enhancements to be compatible with the new Yosemite OS. I've only just seen this (thanks Alan Bell), and there is a windows update if you click 'show all updates' under the first three download items. Ed Rooney
This does not have to do with the firmware update, but I thought owners of the RX10 or those who are considering getting one might be interested in seeing the obvious picture quality in this collection: http://www.pbase.com/cameras/sony/cyber_shot_rx10 I have not been shooting much this past month, so I have some tech-info catching up to do.
