VIDRA
Companies are no longer buying low or medium quality images from agencies, because they can create them at no cost with new artificial intelligence software. Here is an example: https://notiziescientifiche.it/ecco-come-fanno-i-tardigradi-a-resistere-senzacqua/amp/. Alamy has based its marketing strategy on quantity, without making a quality selection and selling high profile images at the same price as the others. If he does not change his policy, he will fail within a few years.

No one will supply images to Alamy if it costs money to do so.
geogphotos
Not much point worrying about what AI is doing when as Sultanpea says there are far more pressing existential threats to all at Alamy even in the short term.

A bit concerned about the government selling out the CDPA though, surely? Edited September 16, 2022 by spacecadet

Don't wish to diminish the issue and to be honest have not looked up the copyright implications At the moment more concerned about what spiralling energy prices might do to Alamy and what PA might decide to do to cut costs/maximise profits.
