Plant ID help please

These are a fairly recent addition to the raggedy palm trees that we also have along our seafront at Southend. Would I be correct in tagging these as Agave angustifolia? It'll be interesting to see how they cope with our winter (also known as summer!).

Sorry can't help other than to say would a phone call to local council works dept- gardening branch (no pun intended) be the way to go? I think they may know what they have planted.

Deleted - I think you are correct. I have been under the wrong impression that these are Aloe Vera plants

These are century plants, Agave Americana.  They are related to aloe, but not commonly known as that.

 

Also, they usually die after they bloom.

Many thanks Hanna. I was quite lucky to catch them in bloom then, and I'll check on them again to see how they go.
