Affiliate charge

An amount was deducted from my account balance as an "affiliate charge". It's my first time experiencing this. Can anyone tell why this is being done?

because people encourage buyers to link through their website before buying so that they can get a commission for the sale which we have to pay for.  I seems Alamy i doing a major push to promote this and the cost is downloaded to contributors.

sorry but this may not be always true, we have no idea how the affiliate program works for Alamy.  For example a certain large online goods seller will credit the Affiliate linker for any purchase within a time period, as long as cookie still present, even if purchase had nothing to do with the original link.

It says on that page.

I don't think that's coming from Alamy.  AFAIK it has been 10% and 30 days all along.

Could it be that all these free coupon sites are the main cause of those rebates?
