1-Inch Sensor in a Smartphone - Sony Xperia PRO-I

You're aware that "1 inch sensor" doesn't mean the sensor is anywhere near 1" in size, right?

However, coming from Sony it will equal or surpass the sensor in the Sony RX100, much loved on here. The 1" sensor is coupled with a 24mm equiv. focal length, the other focal lengths (16mm & 50mm) are only coupled with 1 2/3" sensors so fairly normal for a phone. It is revolutionary but at £2,299 at Wex in the UK it's not going to be influencing this particular photographer. Thanks for sharing.

Actually at 'only' 12MP compared with the 24MP RX100 the quality should be very good in terms of dynamic range and higher ISO performance.

I guess its video capture capability is more interesting than still photography.
But, for the price, this product is far from my wish list.

Anyone considering spending 1800E for this phone should open  up the full sized image of the clam and look at the edges.  

My S9 does much better than that.
