Plant ID help please

Joe

Question

This plant is growing in one of the city parks here on Gran Canaria. Solanum family? I don't think it is native to the Canary Islands. Had a look on the local flora

website but couldn't see Solanum with such broad leaves.

Thanks

Joe

Maybe Solanum vespertilio in the Bramwell book, Wild Flowers of the Canary Islands shows an image with fairly broad leaf.

Thanks, Phil. The Solanum vespertilio flower seems to have a hook shaped Stigma, unlike this one.

Thanks

True...didn't notice that.

Maybe you've found a new sub-species😁 You could pick the name!

Are there any local botanical pages on facebook? Maybe they could help...
