Help please. How should I describe this item?

This item is part of a WWI memorial in an Australian village (Walcha Road)  The horse and upper half are cut out from a sheet of metal and the 'spikes' added to rear.

Any suggestions what it is called

I would research the historical and symbolic significance of the memorial, so that you can give the image a context that might interest buyers. Otherwise it will remain just an interesting image that probably won't license (I've got more than a few of those unfortunately). Good luck.

Thanks John.  Not expecting many licenses; local population is approx 20.   Will see what the local council has to say,

And make sure you get the name of the sculptor. It's always just possible that he or she might become newsworthy one day.

A search of "australian army cap badges sun and horse" yielded nothing resembling this. 

 

I wondered if the "spears" related to  the rising sun which is common on ANZAC badges but it's a bit of a stretch.
