MT lens
My first go here on alamy, and I have my photos all ready, am trying my first upload for technical approval, and all I get in a spinning blue disc, never any sign of upload actually happening... Am I doing something wrong?? I have tried multiple times, on two different computers, two different browsers (chrome and edge), two different, perfectly fast internet connections, and my photos are definitely JPEGs of the 4-6MB size, yet nothing happens. Just a spinning blue disc ... Any help much appreciated!
Bionic
Presumably you are trying to upload 3 images, no more/no less as required for the initial upload?
MT lens
Yes, first time it doesn't allow any more than three. I have tried multiple times with three attachments at once, didn't proceed beyond the spinning blue disc. So then I tried with just a single file upload, still the same result, ie no sign of uploading actually happening ...
NYCat
What exact method are you using? I use the drag and drop method by choosing the jpegs from a folder on my desktop and dragging them in. Paulette
MT lens
Yes, I have used both methods available, dragging and dropping and browsing for files. I appreciate this must make me sound like I have never used a computer before, but I am pretty tech savvy! What should happen next? Like I say nothing but a spinning blue wheel, no sign of any timescale, upload error message or anything. Does any one have an idea how I should contact Alamy, perhaps there is a problem with my profile (seems to display fine from my end though?) thanks all for your help! It's a strange one that's for sure.
NYCat
I remember at one point a member was having trouble uploading and it turned out he had something "illegal" in his file names. I don't know if he was getting a spinning ball. Paulette

I've no idea why it was, maybe Alamy blocks some servers or locations or protocols? If I turned the VPN off, everything worked straightaway. It was weird, I could see my dashboard with the VPN on, but when I went to try and download a sales report, I just got a spinning blue disk. Click the VPN off, and the sales report loaded fine. Another option might be to try FTP upload, Filezilla is recommended. Although you say you have a fast internet connection, is it reasonably fast when uploading too?
