Colblimp
I've managed to get hold of a press pass for the pit at next week's Godiva Music Festival in Coventry - The Stranglers and The Darkness are headlining. I have 3 songs for each band, then I'm back to the press tent to send the pictures off. My question is, should I send pics after each band or wait until I've 3 or 4 bands 'in the can'? Finally, any tips would be good - I've shot live bands before, but never at a festival. Thanks folks.
Julie Edwards
You would normally shoot and send directly after any of the bigger acts. Smaller acts are less of a work and I use the time between them to get some "atmospherez" image of the festival
RedSnapper
Generic shots of the festival and crowd , plus images of people working at the event, will probably be better sellers than yet more pix of those 'name' bands anyway. If i was covering thst event i'd probably be devoting more energy on the new, emerging, acts rather than the headliners too... km
