Anyone Versed in Chinese Culture?

Recommended Posts

I asked about this before, but I don't think I had shown an image.

These icons have been hanging all over Chinatown for months. I was able to find out that they are a sign of good fortune that should be shared with all. But I would like to have more specific information.

It appears to be a variation on the good luck charm.

"In America you will encounter the occasional lucky horseshoe or four-leaf clover, but in Taiwan good luck charms are truly ubiquitous. There are literally hundreds of different ones, and Chinese New Year is the time they are especially featured."

There's a reference photo which is much closer, but it's on a competing stock agency site, so maybe better not to post the link here.
