Nlowe
Hello, I am new to Alamy and getting a feel for what passes for quality. I recently had an image rejected for SOLD and I was curious if anyone here would be willing to suggest if this is a processing error, or something about my field craft that is causing the image to fail. Thank you all for your time and constructive criticism. Full size jpg from tiff, uprezzed to 5200 on the long end from 6mp crop. https://www.flickr.com/photos/nelowe/14195410836/in/photostream/ 100%crop for detail. https://www.flickr.com/photos/nelowe/14215263581/in/photostream/ I'm willing to to agree with quality control that this is soft, but I'm hoping for some insight from the community as to how I could have improved this image. Thanks again.
Guest
Why upres to 5200 pixels? The images only need to be 24MB. That would equate to about 3500-3600 pixels (long side) on a normal aspect ratio.
Mark Baigent
The image does look soft, maybe the uprezzing was too much. The original crop was just too small to start with. IMO
spacecadet
5100px was the upsize for 48MB. You don't need it now.
Nlowe
Then this appears to be a gross oversight on my part. I was following uprez instructions I found on the forum for cropping that must have been older, thank you all again for your time. Just out of curiosity, is there a good rule of thumb for cropping limits (in mp's) before uprezzing?
Nlowe
Not sure how to delete a post either, I had some technical difficulties and double posted my rely, sorry.
spacecadet
As Geoff said. Minimum size is about 8.4mp. If you preserve AR, 3600x2400.
