Need help.

Sharon Tibby

Question

Hello, I am new to Alamay and have several questions. I will start with two questions.

1. How do you get to a live chat for help?

2. I made 2 small submissions. Both passed and are "on sale". One of the submissions had 14 images. To that has been added the 23 I submitted separately. It's says "not on sale" The original 23 are shown separately and are marked, "on sale" Can I delete the 23 that are marked "not on sale" with out delete the original 23?

I am having trouble learning how to navigate this site. I'm not that technical savvy.

Thank You for any help. It will be apprecaited.

Sharon Tibby

1. No Live chat, just a bunch of fossils on the forum. Alamy do answer emails but often direct people here.

2. It can take 24 hours, sometimes longer for images to flush through the server and go live. I see from your post that you now have 37 images on sale, so it seems to be OK?

Forgive me for commenting but:-

3. Having lots of similar images is counter productive. Searc the forum for "excessive similars" for more info.

4. Add Latin names to tags for animals, maybe "Good Boy" as well!

Good luck.

Dogs with their humans seem to license more.  The rule of thumb is one vertical (portrait mode), one horizontal (landscape mode) and maybe one closeup.  You've got two colors of Australian Cattle Dogs, so that would be six photos without the working dog photos.   Dog shows, dog agility trials, herding trials, dogs with their people would give some variety, but expanding beyond one dog breed or beyond just dogs would be better.  Dog breed books -- don't know where they get their photos from but when I was interested in dog shows, there were specialist photographers for posed photos of class winners and posed photos of dogs of various breeds with the leash and hand holding the tail edited out.

Animals doing something tend to also be repeat sellers for some of Alamy's photographers, generally not domestic animals, though.

Small batches by-weekly tend to be processed quicker than batches of over 100.   You need to then add captions and tags/keywords to put them in the "on-sale" group,but the database doesn't update immediately.

Are you intimating that the OP is barking up the wrong tree by asking us forum fossils for help? ☺️

none of previous respondents answered your question;
maybe I won't but here goes:

it takes 1 work day for passed submission to appear online;
you now have (37) online images...

PS. that's if PAlamy system is running smoothly, I just noticed
my forum images count link is ?momentarily? (318) images higher than my
visible images count
