The only one I had viewed before was of the polar bear and the abandoned building. https://www.theguardian.com/environment/gallery/2022/sep/01/wildlife-photographer-of-the-year-2022-highly-commended-pictures 2 2

Harry Harrison
A particularly heart-rending one as well, from Sweden, which shocked me. On a lighter note Joshua Cox was 6 years old when he took the wintry picture of the deer stag in the snow in Richmond Park.

I wonder how the photographer Jo-Anne McArthur gained access to the mink farm, as the farm would not have wanted pictures published. I photograph quite a few animal rights protests, and horrifying pictures taken undercover often feature on placards. How can humans can treat animals in such horrifying ways, likely without feeling and just as a commodity for their fur. Also millions of mink in farms were previously exterminated in the Netherlands and Finland due to Coronavirus risks. My sister would often stay with her daughter in Richmond and photograph the deer, but never obtaining a stunning image as featured.
