please help with plant ID

Not one I recognise. It would probably help greatly if you said whereabouts on Tenerife it was taken as there is a huge variation in flora over the island. Is it a wild or garden plant etc.

hmm, very likely the southern part, close to Costa Del Silencio, we had no car. 
2 trips by bus - one to Mt. Teide, second one to Botanical Gardens in Puerto de la Cruz

the moment I typed Botanic .... it might be that it was just there, forgot we went there

That's almost the same as I googled - 'yellow petals with long red stamen'.
