How to sell in Alamy through my mobile

Recommended Posts

So after years of contending with a phone with bad camera I finally upgraded to a new Samsung phone. In the mean time I was also researching about stock photography and how to enroll in one so that I can sell my photos and earn some money. I signed up with Alamy and was excited to begin when I found out that Alamy doesn't allow Mobile uploads except for Iphones. Can I ask what is wrong with you guys for having this nonsense rule? Mobile photography esp in Android has grown leaps and bounds and yet I find that you guys dont allow me to even upload one taken by my phone for consideration. What is seriously wrong with you?

Hello Sigmund,

The owners have made a business decision to keep their Alamy and St****** brands separate. We don't know their plan, but it's probably not driven by incompetence or accident.

Stay safe

Hi Sigmund,

You really need to make your rant in the social media associated with St*******mo.  We are not supposed to talk about that division here.

Read this, its all in the guides so there's no point ranting about a clearly defined policy

How to pass QC:

  • There are a number of reasons why images might fail
Have a read of our guide on how to pass QC to avoid them.
  • Use a DSLR camera (or equivalent)
Most point & shoot, bridge cameras and all mobile phones will struggle to pass our QC checks, you’ll need a camera with a good quality lens and large enough sensor. See our rough guide to digital cameras for more info.

AND

Mobile

We currently don’t accept mobile/cell phone stock photography through FTP or Alamy upload but photos taken on a mobile/cell phone can be uploaded via our iPhone app Stockimo.

If you take photos on your iPhone and want to make some money, download Stockimo, share your photos and we’ll sell them on Alamy and through our distribution network. There’s lots of information on our help page and over on the Stockimo website. Download Stockimo from the App Store and start uploading now.
