John Morrison
Whenever we complain that Alamy hasn’t updated the database for a few hours, we may consider the efforts that these Filipino students are forced to make, to get online and continue their studies…

Colin Woods
When we were trekking in Nepal we had a rest day at Namche Bazar. From there we did a short day walk to the village of Khumjung. It took about an hour and a half to get up to this village and when we got there we were ready for a break, as the path up is quite steep. When we got back down we were quite ready for a rest. That evening we spoke to the daughter of our lodge owner (she was about 13) and we asked where she went to school. The answer - Khumjung! Our tiring day out was her school day walk, and had been so since she was 6! And when she got back she was working in the lodge, doing her homework in between serving tea and apple pie to the tourists. We have no idea how we take things like clean water, health and education for granted.
