DJ Myford
Identification can be tricky without close examination, but I'd have a tentative guess at Mycena haematopus, the Bleeding Mycena. But definitely get a second opinion: I may be way off.

But then the sanguinolenta is usually found in a different environment, being found on woodland floors, among others, but not usually on rotting trees. DJ Myford
Yes, I went with haematopus rather than sanguinolenta because of the context. They tend to lose the purple tint with age, so I was guessing that these were a little past their best, but again I could be wrong.
