What are these tractors doing?

Can anyone tell me what these tractors were doing? There were several going up and down a field in a row and pouring an earth like substance.

Deep bed preparation, bed shaping, drainage improvement and others around those themes would be suitable for inclusion.  Looking at the attachment on the back of the tractor in the first shot they could also be sowing or plug planting directly into the beds after shaping.
