AlbertSnapper
Hello. Does anyone know much about this horse please? or is it a pony ? Pictured at a traveller's horse fair in the UK. It's quite fluffy, and has feathered feet, common with horses belonging to the gypsies. I guess that it's a bit of a mix, but someone may know more. Thanks ! David McGill
Generally these horses are either piebalds or skewbalds. In this instance it would appear to be a young piebald. Eventually it will lose the "fluffy" coat and look like the ones in the background. Was the photo taken recently?

I am now reading up and learning about piebald and skewbald horses. The photo was taken in 2010. Just had some film scans done, and the lab offered to do more than was requested, for the same price. Jill Morgan
Piebald and skewbald are simply the colour combos. Piebald is black and white, and skewbald is any other combination other than black and white. The breed of horse is Gypsy Vanner. Jill
MicheleD
They are also called the Gypsy Cob. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gypsy_horse This one may look the size of a small riding pony, but it's just a baby. As David mentioned, the fluffy foal coat will drop out after a few months.
