Nope! Sorry you got me there. What is it?

Joking aside I have looked through my small book on fungi but cannot find it. At first I thought "Funnel Cap" but not with that colouring I'm afraid. Fungi with similar colouring to your photo do not seem to take on that form.

???????

I would like to know what it is too.

And if its not and a publisher uses it in good faith and looses future business as a result guess where he will not go for his next batch of pictures! By all means put it on site but call it a fungus or toad stool and leave it to them that know to apply a specific name. This site and others already have more than their fair share of inaccuracies.
