Plant ID help please

Looking at the shape of the leaves and the way the flowers droop in the truss I'd say it's either Rhododendron williamsianum or Rh.orbiculare or a hybrid with one or both of those species blood in there.  There are quite a few of these hybrids around and I can't be more specific from that photo.

Thanks very much for your reply John, that's very helpful. 

 

I will look into the hybrid versions to find out more about it.
