Scott Campbell
Hi folks! Just a quick tagging query - if I caption an image, for example, 'Piccadilly Circus tube station' as a single tag, do I also need to add the tag 'tube station' if I want it to appear for searches under 'tube station'? Another example would be - if I added the tag 'bird on tree', would this image appear for searches for just 'bird' or 'tree' - or would I need to add those individual tags separately? For example, I'm tagging photos of a tube station and at the moment I'm adding London Underground, Underground Station, Underground, Piccadilly Underground, Piccadilly London Underground, Tube station, Tube, Station - so lots of duplicates which doesn't seem right. What is the best way to do this? Cheers! Hope this makes sense! Cheers, Scott
spacecadet
No. Component words of a multi-word tag are still searched on. It's just that the complete tag searched as such is supposed to have a higher significance.
Matt Ashmore
Tags in theory carry a higher weight than the caption. So even if words are in the caption, I would still add them to a tag. If the words are already in another tag, however, you wouldn't need to create them on their own in a seperate tag.
