Sony RX100 Mk3 vs RX100 Mk1 - Lens Performance

Recommended Posts

I have been using a Mk1 Sony RX100 for some time now with great success.  I suits the way I work and for both stills and video.

It's had a fair bit of use now and I plan to replace soon.

For me, there is only one minus - the lens can be a tad softer at the edges than I would like.   Has anyone used both cameras and if so how do you find the lens performance on the Mk3 compared to the Mk1?

Thanks Allan

Yes I had seen the specs.  The shorter zoom is fine for me.  From a couple of reviews I've read it would appear that the new lens is an improvement over the Mk1.

I wondered if this is born out in practice.    There are two other improvements which appear - one is the tilt back and of course the viewfinder.

Regards

John
