  1. I've just trawled through mine and 'non-exclusived' a few which had artwork as the main subject. Fortunately I had added artwork, picture, sculpture, street art etc. as keywords so finding them was easier. I originally changed all my images to exclusive as they are only on Alamy. I hadn't allowed for the works of art etc.
  2. I have some atmospheric images that I feel would be ideal for book covers ie. Murder Mystery etc. Should I add certain keywords to attract a publisher's attention? Book Cover perhaps? Any suggestions?
  3. Only one advertising sale for me too. Used in China for gardening products as far as I recall. $800+
  4. Looks close on perfect to me - you'll never get total perfection. Liverpool is without doubt my favourite city.
  5. BitDefender is my anti-virus software and it was that which was stopping my uploads. As soon as I added the Alamy URL to the BitDefender exceptions, no more upload problems. I believe that most anti-virus software has the ability to add 'exceptions'.
  6. With regard to upload problems, I had this recently. Whenever I tried to upload a file, the progress bar would shoot to the and and then drop back to 35%. There it would stay. It turned out to be the latest update of BitDefender being over cautious. It was the on-line threat protection section. I just had to add the various URL's of the places I was uploading to as 'exceptions'. Immediately solved the problem. John
  7. A belated Happy Birthday from me too. A great way to celebrate your birthday in your new home and in a fantastic city. 😊 John
  8. I've been on page 1 about 5 rows down for some time now. I do get sales every month so I guess I'm doing something right? Out of interest though, I very rarely have an image found in the monthly Have you found any Alamy Image threads.
  9. Mine works out at 420. Is that good or bad? John
  10. I've also received a small 'Other Income' payment. I'm opted out of Alamy collecting my DACS - could this be TV use as I have had a few TV sales?
  11. I've recently looked at my B&W prints from the 80s. I think the heavyweight paper I used was called Gallery ? I would have real problems trying to re-create that feel with today's printers and paper.
  12. I must get up early enough one day and watch one set up. The ones that appear in Canterbury only ever seem to be finishing off a paw like the guy in your photo. You can pass by an hour later and they'll still be working on that same paw. 😕 That waiter guy in your other picture must struggle to get onto his steel frame with that pose! Two great photos.
  13. +1 for pricing by image pixel size. This is how another agency prices but doesn't appear to distinguish for Personal Use. Prices seem a bit steep but they are pricing based on size. 14. Out of interest, have any of you actually seen one of these sand dog 'sculptors' start from scratch? I've been told they carry a silicon dog moulding that has sand stuck all over it and just a small quantity of sand which they fart about with all day to make it look like they are 'sculpting'.
  15. In my experience, all my transformed images save ok as jpegs as long as I flatten the image first. More than one layer open and it saves as a PSD file. Flattening the image (if needed) before 'Save' is part of my workflow John
  16. Spot on Mark. If you don't flatten the image to a single layer it saves as PSD. John
  17. I can just imagine what these heavily tattoo'd bodies will look like when the 'wearers' are in their 80s and 90s ...... 😝
  18. Hi Liverpix, Keep in mind that you have raised your profile with Alamy now. Make sure every one of your future submissions is perfect - scrutinised at 100%. Good luck John
  19. Looks great but appears to have some excessive sharpening in the fine detail - almost engraving like. You shouldn't have any problems passing QC with any of the RX100 range of cameras.
  20. Hi Ed My understanding is that JPEGs saved at level 12 don't suffer from damage to any great degree. Will be interesting to see other member's thoughts. John
  21. Looks like my GPU is the weak point so will follow up your suggestion Johnnie5. It looks like some of the suggested GPU's require a double bay so need to check if there's room. It's 4 years since I built it. Thank you.
