Steve UK
I seem to be getting nearly as many sales as zooms, spread over different pseudonyms, so some have 3 sales and no zooms and 0 ctr. It seems many images are now sold without ever being zoomed. How will this effect an alamy ranking?
Stokie
If you are getting sales I wouldn't worry too much! Sales are king. John.
Martin P Wilson
I have one image that has been zoomed three times, and another shot from the set once, but still no sale. My few sales are pretty much without zooms.
Southpole
Given up worrying about zooms and CTR doesn't make sense to me I need to sell 3 images a month and i am happy, only 2 this month so far
Gruffydd
Of course sales are what we are all after - but if paying attention to the factors that affect rank is going to help sales it seems sensible to do it. Alamy's simplified definition of rank as Views / (Clicks + Sales) suggests that clicks (zooms) and sales carry equal weight. I know which I would prefer if I had to choose, but if I can increase the chance of a zoom through careful keywording (so only relevant images appear as a view) I will be increasing the chance of a sale, too. According to this formula, if I had made the same number of sales in the last year without any zooms my Alamy rank would have fallen by 323.
