I've often wondered how long it takes for photographers to gain access to some of the larger sporting events such as Man U v Liverpool, Celtic v Rangers or International Rugby. I presume they won't just let anybody with an DSLR in to capture the stars in action. What was your experience?

There are similar requirements for top level motor racing, both of which I'd now wish I'd considered when younger but have left it way too late in life to begin the drawn-out process.

Seems to me there's a bit of chicken and egg conflict going on there. i.e Send 15 images used in national papers but you need accreditation to get those pictures. I guess there's a solution, maybe lower league images. But yes it's probably as difficult as I suspected it would be.
