Dirk Jirky
I see a lot of photos on the Alamy site taken by U.S. military personnel. These photos are released to the public for free use. Alamy is selling these photos. If this is not illegal, this is ethically very wrong. Can someone explain this??
spacecadet
Can you explain why you think it's illegal, or if not, unethical?
Robert M Estall
I note you only joined Alamy yesterday and it doesn't look like you have uploaded any images. So I assume you joined to pose this question? On Easter Monday. It wont be Alamy who has recruited the images you are bothered about but , rather they are invariably from a third party. Personally, I don't admire individuals or agencies who gather up NASA and other images and present them to the buying clients directly or via a portal, but it's been going on a very long time, and not just here on Alamy. It looks like opportunism rather than presenting photographic or graphic tallent. This has been going on at least since the first Moon Walk
