Out of sight out of mind. You need to switch on and take a look. Obvious I know, but I've been caught out a few times by images lacking contrast and sharpness due to grease on the glass. I need to get into the habit of peering at the lens before a day's shooting. Surprise it by pulling the battery when it's still switched on. Maybe take the memory card out first lol.
