Good point. I was basing my comment on the publicity Canon have released on these cameras which contain numerous features also targeted at that sector. Whether the marketing matches a real need is another matter, but given the price of these cameras I assume Canon have done their homework?

The Canon flagship camera is about £2000 more than the equivalent Nikon and I would think the differences are marginal. Their new second in iine camera is about £500 to £1100 (depending on sales) than the equivalent Nikon. Their lenses are also pretty pricy in comparison to Nikon.  I don't even look at this stuff apart from the headlines- I'm  a happy Nikonian. IKuzmin is the person here who probably knows more than anyone about this as I think he is invested in both systems.

Hi. Did not see that you mentioned me. I am not an expert, and with Nikon only for a year, perhaps that's not enough.

I appreciate the way Nikon closes gaps in Canon's and Sony's lineup (and what also the Number 3 can do?) But even with this, I cannot get why a camera for $4k, like Z8, is so flimsy compared to Canons, with little items just falling apart (lugs, eyepiece ring, etc)...

I've not had any problems with any of that. Maybe you are harder on your cameras than me.

Unfortunately i tried using the Denoise in LR yesterday on some images i'd mistakenly shot in Jpeg to be told RAW only.
