Location in caption confusion

Mousekey

Question

Alamy's latest tweet says that 'If you're adding a location or date to your caption, make sure it's correct. Customers will search for specific places and time periods, so accurate information is key.

So does this mean that the information put in the location field is not searched by the search engine when customers look for a specific location?

Correct. Not at the moment.

Also used as a basis for the Location filter but only if it contains the text 'UK', 'USA' 'Europe' or 'Australia'. If you have entered a location then it displays under the image on the zoom screen so can in theory be indexed by the Google search engine, or possibly the alternatives.
