has the search engine changed ?

in trying to understand my rapid fall in views and zooms I have revisited some of the standard searches I used to do. I have 6 key words that I used to track fairly regularly and most appeared in the first 4 pages of searches. Having not done this for a while I was shocked to find most of these are now in the bottom third of pages. That might explain my fall in views / zooms, my images are now just too far down the searches to be seen ( except for more specialist or unique images)

 

I know there is little I can do in the short term to change this, but does anyone know if and how the search engine might have been changed

There has been a formal re-rank about 2 weeks ago - the first for a few years. There are threads in this and other parts of the forum about it.
