Lori Rider
A shot from 2017 still unidentifed. Some kind of orchid? Google wants it to be a honeysuckle, but no...
0 John Richmond
No, not an orchid. It's one of the hardy gingers, Hedychium gardnerianum, Kahili ginger. Thoroughly exotic in cooler climates, a pest in warm climates, but absolutely beautiful. The only problem is that the flower head only lasts about 6 days, Here's one from my Plymouth, UK garden: I'm hoping it will flower again this year.
