Allan Bell
Hi Alamy, As there are so many individual threads in "Community Support - Ask The Forum" just now on the above subject how about a permanent locked thread where all these questions are asked. It would eventually become an encyclopaedia of knowledge which would help all forum members by searching for a Plant/flower. All existing threads on the subject could be transferred to the locked thread. Allan

A single thread would get very long, so how would we search it when all we have is a picture to start from? Although that's a (bigger?) problem with the current separate threads too. The benefit of starting threads in the Community Support - Ask the Forum section is that threads can be marked as answered, although they are frequently not marked as such and the thread wanders off into the weeds.... (no pun intended). The section probably needs some better control/moderation. Mark

M.Chapman
Another option is to use Google lens or the Seek app by iNaturalist. Just point your camera phone at the item (or a photo of it) and see if it identifies it. Geoff Smith told me this tip and it can be surprisingly effective/accurate.
