M.Chapman
Any ideas on the Lichen and Fern in this image? They were growing on an old stone wall on a Scottish Island (Colonsay). Thanks in advance. Mark
John Richmond
The fern is easy enough - it's Maidenhair spleenwort, Asplenium trichomanes. The lichen is another matter as there are a few fructicose species that have that appearence. I don't think it's an Usnea but that's as far as I can go. I should have studied them while I had the chance 😊

Update - I decided the lichen is most likely Ramalina siliquosa because it's growing on stone near the sea not on a woodland tree. Mark
