I get that images with a friend that works in the Museum. https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:C05f049._Aserrando_árbol_frente_a_la_tienda_R._Lista.jpg The image is a public domain in the Uruguayan code (protects until 50 years of the death of autor). Alan No reason why not, with English keywords, although anyone who wanted it could just use the CC version for free. Of course you can't mark it as exclusive. I'm reading this as the OP saying that he uploaded the image to Creative Commons because a friend worked at the museum, for the public good if you like, but someone else is selling it on Alamy. If so then I'm wondering is there anything to stop this, should there be? What's to stop loads of people selling this or other similar images on Alamy. Actually I think they probably do already if you look at out of copyright postcards and artworks etc.
0 spacecadet
Ah, I get it now. OP didn't submit the image. OP, no, you can't prevent it. The musem may own the print, but as it's out of copyright it doesn't own any reproduction rights. There's no separate copyright in a copy of a photograph.
