mickfly
Is there a reason why 'Alamy live news' is the only credit line on some newspaper photographs, whereas other agencies seem to credit the photographer by name?
ann
Based on my own news photos (which are the only ones I'd know were mine and originally from Alamy if photographer's name isn't included) some photo outlets have stronger, more comprehensive news photo byline agreements than others. It can get interesting. For example, when a news photo of mine is sourced from a particular major partner of an agency I contribute to - all 3 names appear in byline - mine, original agency, partner agency. But when a news photo is sourced directly from that original agency, my name often doesn't appear in byline. But with all the variables - original agency, partner agencies, the outlet publishing news photo - it's complicated to determine who is responsible for including or omitting photographer's name in byline.
