Sky Replacement fault with GPU turned on

Recommended Posts

Hi All

I am having a problem using Sky Replacement in Photoshop 2024.

When I flatten the image it breaks up.

If I turn off Use Graphics Processor in PS Preferences the problem goes away.

I have a NVIDIA GeForce GT 640 GPU running on a Windows 10 PC.

All the best

Steve

I don't know much about Windows GPUs but a quick search reveals your GPU dates to 2012 so clearly the problem is down to the age of the hardware. Photoshop specs now say they don't support Windows GPUs older than 7 years. Photoshop, Lightroom and other graphics applications use the GPU extensively for intensive processing required by these new(ish) features such as Sky Replacement. You have found a solution for now which is what is recommended by Adobe. The options are fairly obvious: upgrade the graphics card if possible, get a new computer, run an older version of Photoshop etc
