PSD file must be 'Rasterized' ...

Processing a  RAW image in Photoshop CS5  & Viveza to a .psd file ..   Seldom I receive  the notification that this Image  psd file  'must be rasterized' ...  Gives me  NO  choice ...What is causing this issue/notification ???  Can this then derived .jpg  file still be submitted  ???  Using Canon 5D Mark III ... I get this If I try to do something to a smart object that can only be done to a rasterized layer.  But have never got it when trying to save a file.  Is that what is happening?  You have such an old version of Photoshop that it may be hard for some to figure out. You might need to post this question on an Adobe forum board.
