In answer to Ed's original post:

 

I read the major papers daily (Wall Street Journal, New York Times and one of my local dailies)

I also have National Public Radio on in my office all day and night. I don't pay much attention

to the weekly magazines anymore and CNN in the U.S. is not worth much to me.

 

All of the above gives me a good idea of what is happening and more importantly what people

are talking about. When I covered breaking news, which I don't do anymore, I listened to

news radio all day long. I look at the long run and tend not to think about creating images

that will only be licensed once to illustrate a story that

is forgotten in a week.
