Then I'll refine my answer to #2 being a Phlox subulata variety.  There's quite a few dark pink ones - including ones you have in North America that we don't grow in the UK - so I can't give you the exact cultivar.  #1 still looks like one of the dwarf Chrysanthemum varieties.  Again, lots of these around and they'd do well in your climate.
