Question

I don't have a building release for the barns on Mormon Row in Wyoming. Do I need one? If not, what do I do or how do I get one?

Thank you!

Hi CNG. Welcome, good you have your first 3 images on sale!

It's not normal for us to have property releases when we're shooting stock - property is any recognisable building, product, logo etc. In which case, just mark in the Optional tab in AIM that there is property, release - no. This is sufficient, although you can additionally mark the image as 'Editorial only' on the mandatory tab. You might be able to get a property release if you're commercially shooting - I've never had one. I do have some model released images though of family.

I see Steve, so they will still post these photos without a release. Thank you!

That's right. Clients only need released photos for commercial/advertising purposes, not for editorial uses. Alamy is primarily in the editorial market, the vast majority of images in the library are non-released.
