HDR mode

Turn off the flash and turn on the HDR mode. HDR mode can help deal with the contrast between the bright fireworks and the relative darkness of the foreground.
 
Exposure and focus
Once the fireworks show starts, set your exposure and focus. To do this, wait for a large firework burst and quickly put a finger on the explosion on your phone’s screen and wait for “AE/AF LOCK” to appear as shown in the photo below. The yellow square indicates the spot where focus and exposure are set.
