State Parks  - near home ...

Rockefeller State Park, Westchester County, New York:

...and across the country:

Wow - there are so many State and National Parks left on my bucket list! Hard to compete with the beautiful images here, but I figure it's never a bad idea to share my work, especially as I haven't been very active in the forum lately. I love how these challenges make me think about my portfolio and about places I want to visit. Every time I do one of these challenges, I also realize that photos are missing from my Alamy portfolio that should be online - I was searching for a particular one from the Grand Canyon that I was sure I'd uploaded. I also ended up tagging some weather news photos I shot when I got my new Sony (the first two I've shared here- unless I change my mind). I have some from Iceland and Sweden that I thought would suit the challenge, but they are not from National Parks, so I'm sticking with the US. And dreaming of a vacation to Canada - among other places - thanks to everyone's images. Thanks Olivier - great challenge!

Right. It took me some time to select my entries. I have 2,782 pix of National Parks!

With each competition, I wonder what exactly are we going to judge the entries on. I have stunning pictures of nature in national parks but with no photographic merit, just a record. I have not included those.
