Selling Prints discussion

But how to use this as an individual? How to try and promote print sales through Alamy via my own website.

My image refs are not searchable so why would I just provide a blanket link banner to Alamy prints and lose potential sales?

Can Alamy offer a restricted area where only my images show up and can be found using my image refs? It is hardly 'seamless' for me or any other individual to offer print sales.

I'd say this matters to Alamy unless they are going to really spend time and money marketing themselves to consumers rather than image pros.

I've got a link to my Alamy collection on my website Ian.  Customers choosing a photo have the option to buy an image for personal use and to have it printed by Art.com

Not sure where the problem lies?

I am assuming that we will be paid the normal personal use rate?

Thanks. I'd sort of forgotten about being able to link to our images.

Please remind me, does that stop the searcher going off to the whole of Alamy?

I thought I'd give it a go.

Fill in my credit card details and Place my Order

Then I get download options. I chose the largest.

Printed off my invoice.

At which stage was I supposed to be able to order a print? I must have missed it.

Then I can choose print size frames etc. I stop at this point. 25 x20 cm is the smallest/cheapest option it seems? I didn't select a size from the previous screen, not sure what difference that would have made because I already downloaded the highest res file.

Maybe it is just me but I wouldn't describe this as a seamless process, especially not for a total newbie.

Perhaps Alamy could produce a run through sequence like this which could be used on our websites to guide prospective buyers through the process?

You've bought one of your own pix? At least it won't be refunded...  :)
